Oil Smoke Application - Absolent ODF-3000

Clark Air Systems solves a big oil smoke problem using an Absolent ODF-3000:

Before -- Oil Smoke application --  In this very high oil smoke application, this manufacturer tried several different oil mist collection strategies which resulted in poor filtration, frequent filter change-out requirement, loss of airflow, and poor air quality. 

After -- Oil Smoke application --  Clark Air Systems recommended and installed an Absolent ODR-3000 which took the place of four previous mist collectors and cut maintenance, improved continuous airflow, and greatly improved air quality on the manufacturing floor.

Of all the industrial contaminants we've been asked to eliminate, Oil Smoke can be the most challenging. Here are some of the reasons:

• Like all smoke, oil smoke is made up of very small particles.
• Unlike most other smoke, its wet!
• It is often combined with lots of oil mists (larger particles) that complicate the filtering solution.

Clark Air Systems solved this perplexing problem using the Absolent ODR-3000. This unit is specifically designed to coagulate oil smoke and (a real key to this technology) DRAIN it from the filter against the airflow. This ability to coagulate and drain is called "Wicking Capacity". 

Fiberglass filters have historically been used because of their wicking capacity. But the problem is fiberglass media tends to matt and open up and become less efficient in removing the mist and smoke over time. The wicking filters in the Absolent solve this problem by combining many different fiber types in a proprietary design.

As a result of the installation of Absolent ODR-3000, the customer enjoys the following benefits.....

• Continuous high airflow – plugged filters that cause a dramatic loss of airflow is never an issue with a correctly-applied Absolent Unit.  
• Continuous high efficiency filtration – the outlet mist levels never exceeded 0.05 mg/m3 during the entire first year of operation.
• Low filter changes and less downtime – After suffering through weekly filter change-out requirements with the previous mist collectors, the ODR-3000 required no maintenance for over six months.
