Compression Intake

Protect Your Compressor

In industrial environments, corrosive gases raise the acidity of compressed air, creating an aggressive condensate that attacks metal surfaces, causes vibration and reduces compressor efficiency. Our Compressor Intake Filter (CIF) removes corrosive gases and particulates from air entering the compressor. Because it protects against impeller vibration and intercooler corrosion, the CIF greatly reduces compressor maintenance costs.

Compressor CIF
Air enters the CIF and passes through the low efficiency particulate filter, two passes of chemical filtration and a high efficiency final filter before entering the compressor.

Problems Caused by Corrosive Gases
Symptom Cause Components Affected
Decreased compressor efficiency Corrosion film impedes heat dissipation and reduces the air flow area. Intercooler
Corroded and leaking copper tubing.
Vibration of compressor Inhibited airflow caused by dislodged corrosion by-products. Diffuser
Nose Bolt
Impeller
Passage of air and/or water is blocked due to dislodged corrosion by-products causing a hammering effect. Impeller
Corrosion on intercasing section.
